QUESTIONS and ANSWERS

WHERE IS IT?

The Listening Room - Port Clinton is located inside The OurGuest Inn & Suites at 220 East Perry Street in downtown Port Clinton, Ohio. Free parking is available in the hotel's parking lot or on Adams or Jefferson Streets.

WHAT IS IT?

The Listening Room - Port Clinton is the Lake Erie Shores and Islands area's number one venue for singer/songwriter performing arts. Most of our visiting performers are from the country, folk, and acoustic genres. We provide a quiet environment for our listeners by requesting no talking from patrons during performances. All shows are 21 and older due to the sale of alcoholic beverages (unless otherwise noted). Please have a valid ID.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER AREA BARS AND VENUES?

Our venue is different from other live entertainment in the area because we provide an intimate listening room environment that is truly unique. This gives the performer a wonderful opportunity to connect with their audience and showcase their talent without competing with noisy bar chatter.  We provide the most exclusive show atmosphere on the North Coast!

WHAT KIND OF PERFORMERS DO YOU HAVE?

The Listening Room - Port Clinton showcases some of America's most talented artists and songwriters. Most of our artists are from music capitals like Nashville, LA, or New York. This gives you the chance to see these artists in an intimate and intense setting with just the performer and their guitar or their keyboard.

HOW DO I GET A GOOD SEAT?

Do not worry. Our small venue provides that no patron is further than 35 feet from the stage. Each show night is different.  Some shows may have 50 people in the audience and some may have over 100; usually somewhere in between.  Either way you get a personal, intimate show, close to the performer. Our audience atmosphere is patterned after musical clubs like the renowned Village Vanguard and the Bitter End in New York City; the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville; Eddie's Attic which is the South's premier songwriter venue; and the famous Troubadour in Los Angeles. The patrons are packed in close together on padded chairs near the stage, resulting in a significant energy that is created between the artist and the audience. We want every fan who attends our shows to have a unique musical experience. Please note - you may not save seats once inside the venue. Your entire party must be present.

IS IT A GREAT EXPERIENCE?

At the core, music venues should be gathering places. People don't just watch musicians, but instead share an experience with them. At The Listening Room - Port Clinton our goal is to let that experience happen.  This is your chance to get up close and personal with nationally touring artists who could become big stars in the future. We welcome you to meet and talk with them, get your picture taken with them, or have them autograph their latest CD for you!

WHAT DOES IT COST?

The shows at The Listening Room - Port Clinton are the best value in entertainment in the Lake Erie Shores and Islands area. Most shows have an affordable general admission fee, and there is always a 2 drink minimum.  Snacks are also available (see menu). All shows are 21 and older due to the sale of alcoholic beverages (unless otherwise noted). Please have a valid ID. Check out the "Show Dates" tab for up to date show pricing and package information.

WHY THE 2 DRINK MINIMUM?

The 2 drink minimum allows us to bring in nationally-touring artists and songwriters that typically play much larger venues like theaters and casinos. The intimacy of our venue is unmatched, but due to the limited seating, most (if not all) of the ticket sales go directly to these deserving performers. Small music venues and comedy clubs across the country have adopted a drink minimum in order to help them survive and continue to promote the performing arts in small communities. Plenty of non-alcoholic beverages are available. Please drink responsibly. Our front desk staff has the phone numbers for local taxi companies.

CAN I GET ANOTHER DRINK OVER THE 2 MINIMUM?

Absolutely!  A full service staff is available throughout the show.  We feature an assortment of beer and wines plus your favorite cocktails.  Soda, water, and various snacks are also available (see menu).

WHERE DO I PARK?  WHERE DO I ENTER?

Due to the congested parking lot of the hotel, the best bet is to park in the public parking on Adams Street or Jefferson Street.  Both are only a few steps from the front entrance to The OurGuest Inn and Suites hotel where you will find The Listening Room - Port Clinton.  Enter through the main lobby of the hotel.
